Manuscripts: If you are thinking of sending a manuscript for us to consider, please contact us by email first. We only publish around six books a year so our schedule is now full through to the end of 2017. However if you would like us to consider your manuscript to be included in next year's publishing schedule please send a hard copy plus a reading fee of £50 to the editorial address above.

Why publish a book?

The average life of a digital computer file is 3 years, after which it will have to be saved in a new format.

The life of film on cellulose is around 600 years.

The life of a book is over 2,500 years. The oldest book currently known is an Etruscan script found in a tomb in south western Bulgaria.

The life of music is over 3,400 years. The oldest known song is a Sumerian hymn written on a clay tablet found in the Syrian city of Ugarit.

The life of a painting is over 35,000 years – the date of some cave paintings in both Asia and Europe.
